Ruby on Rails is simply great!

I finally took my decision so i’m working on my idea developing it using Ruby on Rails. It really seems i took a good decision since everthing is fl;owing good. Getting started with Rails is pretty easy as soon as you start to understand how it works.

I was lucky. Rails 0.13 was released just before i started to get serious on learning it so here i have lovely new features for free! Ajax is already powering my project!

Now i’m considering to buy the Rails book… i only hear good comments about it.

Back to Ubuntu

It’s been on my mind for weeks and today i finally burned the final backups and switched back to Ubuntu. Gentoo was giving me too many compile time errors i couldn’t get rid of and i was getting pretty frustrated about it.

The last time i tried Ubuntu, Hoary was still the unstable version, but i kinda liked it. I’m a Gnome and Debian lover but i don’t like spending hours fine tuning my system so i really think Ubuntu is the distro for me. I’m already impatient about the release of Breezy which will be based on Gnome 2.12 which should be (finally!!!) a great step forward in both features and usability.

I’m trying hard to convince myself not to switch to Breezy until it will be officially released, but i’m so weak when it comes to having the opportunity to test bleeding edge software!

Welcome back !

My Web Hosting Suggestions

When it comes to choose where to host your beautiful website googling the web may just be frustrating and confusing.

Need an example? Just google for “web hosting”! So many companies fighting to host your website!!!

I think experience may be useful so i’ll try to share mine.

As far as i could see there are many interesting offers and the big trick to save some money is getting exactly what u need… nothing less, but also nothing more!

For example… u won’t need gigabytes of space if u only want to publish a blog like the one you’re reading now! 20 Mb is enough to start with. But you’ll surely need more if you are an amateur photographer and want to put your pictures on the net.

Anyway, i won’t suggest you the cheapest solution, but the best one i found so far.

Rem Graphics has good prices for LAMP hosting solutions but its great added value is tech assistance! So, especially if you’re a beginner or think you will need support, just try them out!

Don’t try this at home

This website, which seems to be getting quite a lot popularity on the net, describes a method which should allow to find WiFi networks connecting a COM directly to a TV antenna plug and using some software.

Well… THIS IS A HOAX! so…

Don’t try this at home!

Don't try this at home!
